Porsche Track Car Part 33

The weekend of April 6th and 7th finally brought some great spring weather and a great track weekend at VIR North course.  This event was put on by the Tar Heel Sports Car Club (www.thscc.com).  These guys do a great job and put on a well run event.  They have very good instructors both in the car and in the classroom.  They strive for incident free weekends.  I highly recommend them, especially for new or low time students.

Speaking of new students, I shared my car with my son-in-law Andy.  This was his first track event ever.  As we can probably all remember, he found the first day to be a little overwhelming.  By the second day he was getting into the swing of things.  I know he had a great time.

The car continues to perform well.  Zero mechanical issues to report.  I am gaining more and more confidence in my new Spec944 suspension.  I also really like the new KFP Gold brake pads that I installed along with the Stebro slotted rotors.  Braking was very consistent all weekend.  Right now the rears will lock up first so maybe that will be something to work on.  But the pads worked great with no issues and a quick visual shows no appreciable wear after this weekends use plus 7 hours use with Chin last month.  So they are looking to be a good value.

The VIR North course is well suited to the 944 N/A as there is only 1 long straight and lots of curves.  The uphill complex called Stevie Wonder is a lot of fun.

So all in all a great weekend at the track with the Porsche 944 track car.
