I had the pleasure recently of being able to photograph a wonderful Jaguar XK-120 belonging to Ron Gaertner. Ron is a member of the Virginia Jaguar Club and always makes a point to attend our Carolina Jaguar Club concours at Little Switzerland in July. Ron has always been very complementary of our show, which is meaningful as he attends a lot of concours events and probably has seen it all. I know he likes the high mountain location in July, where we can beat the heat if not always the rain! We had great weather this year with just a few sprinkles.
Ron first saw this car at another concours event. He liked it immediately but it was not for sale at that time. Later circumstances changed and Ron jumped at an offer to buy this amazing car. It is a 1953 XK-120 fixed head coupe and it is in museum quality condition. I have had the opportunity to judge this car. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. It is restored to a very high standard!
Other Jaguar Clubs of North America (JCNA) judges must agree, as Ron’s car has placed first in its class nationally for the last 6 years. So sit back and enjoy the photos of this wonderful car.
